Why I Am Running for U.S. Congress
Why am I running for U.S. Congress, and what will I do when I'm elected?
I'm a lifelong Minnesotan. My family has a long, proud history in the timber and sawmill industry. After almost 30 years of self-employment, I understand how business works. I know how important small business owners are to our local economies, to the overall economic health of Minnesota, and our nation. The small business owner is the backbone of America.
I've observed the changes that have taken place in our local communities, our state and this country, and I'm alarmed.
During the last 36 years of our current representative's term, there has been a consistent pattern of increase: increase in federal programs, increase in national debt, increase in taxes and increase in government control.
All of that federal increase has resulted in a substantial decrease in our economy, and our local control of education, business, agriculture, healthcare and tourism.
I'm running for Congress because we need change; not the kind of change that came by the last election. We need change that will restore control of your life, your money, and your health care.
The United States of America belongs to the people, not to the government. I'm running for U.S. Congress because I will effect the kind of change that will restore character, integrity and respect back to the public offices that were established to serve the American people, not the other way around.
As an Independent candidate, I'm not obligated to either Republican or Democrat leadership. I'm obligated to the people I represent. I cannot be bought and I will not compromise. I give you my word to give you my best. I will work hard to restore Minnesota and the United States of America to the foundations that made them great.
